What a Week by Kelly

This has been a very busy and fun filled week! Tuesday Will had his splash day at school. I was there taking pictures and then ate lunch with him. That evening I had a Premier Designs Jewelry show for my friend Nina and so far the show has done really well. We will have a total on Monday. Then Wednesday Cole had a field trip to the Dallas World Aquarium and I went along as a chaperon, for free I might add. Very nice! We had lunch at the park afterward. Thursday was Will's last day of school. So while both my boys were in school, I went and had my first guitar lesson with Steve Wiesberg. Now you may be asking yourself, self who is that? Well let me tell you! He was the lead guitarist for John Denver for many of their touring years. He now does shows with Roy Rivers, who does John Denver tributes and has many songs of his own. Both Steve and Roy are very nice people. I feel privileged to say that I am taking guitar lessons from Steve Weisberg!!!! On Friday Mike was able to score some free tickets with parking to the Texas Rangers baseball game. We got to take Cole and Will to their first baseball game ever. The guy sitting next to Mike got a fly ball. It is a little scary seeing that ball come flying towards you. Especially when earlier in the night you saw one break someones nose. PROTECT THE KIDS was the only thought. A bonus we didn't even know about til almost the end of the game was that they were going to have a fireworks show after the game. It was amazing! We all had a blast! It made for a late night but well worth it. Now it is Saturday morning and I sit here drinking my spark, trying to wake up, so I can go get ready for a wonderful lunch with my lovely SILC sisters and guests. I can't wait to see yall soon!!!!!!!!!!

Weekend by Sarah

Here is what I did this weekend:
- Worked Saturday morning.
- Had a goodbye lunch for a co-worker after work at the Olive Garden.
- Spent some time with my poor sick husband.
- Had my father come over so my husband could clean his guns.
- Had dinner with my father at Brahms. Yum.
- Went to Church on Sunday morning.
- Had a birthday lunch for my niece at Cici’s pizza for lunch.
- Went home and took my Sunday Afternoon Nap.
- Helped my husband take pictures of some items he wants to sell and post them on eBay.
- Went to Dave and Dorothy’s house to play Jenga and Would You Rather.
- Came home at almost midnight so I could get some sleep before work Monday morning.

Here is what I did not do this weekend:
- Laundry.
- The dishes in my sink.
- Sweep up the floors in the bedroom.
- Find a pesticide for my plants.
- Scrub the bathtub.
- Make dinner. Or lunch. Or breakfast.
- Ride a donkey.
- Wash my Jeep.
- Organize my filing cabinet.
- Write a blog post.
- Throw away all the junk mail that has been accumulating on my dining room table.

I hope your weekend was more productive than mine!

Footbal camp....

One of my favorite things in the world is being a mom, but being a football mom ROCKS!!!!! Can't wait till games start and we start winning!!!

So Here We Go

Ok so this is my first official post! Yeah! So here is the 411 on Kelly: For those of you who don't already know i recently had a *minor* problem with a rollerblading incident. In my defense I did get to the bottom of the hill the fastest, however, falling, bouncing twice, and breaking my back wasn't part of the game plan.

Yep. I fell and broke my back. Go ahead and laugh. Really, get it out of your system now.
I'll wait.

......

Done yet? Ok, well a quick car ride to the ER, 2 x-ray's, an MRI, and about a half dozen co-pay's later, I am in a brace for six weeks due to a fractured T-11 vertebra. Let me be the first to tell you, IT'S NOT VERY FUN. I have to wear this strange & extremely uncomfortable thing all day (and some nights) and it gets very old very fast. The good news is that as of my latest trip to the doctor everything is healing nicely and I should only have to wear this thing till May 28, when I have another xray an appt scheduled. I will keep you posted!

Here is today's day brightener page from the flip calender I keep on my desk at work. A lovely prayer.

Saturday Gardening: A Topsy Turvy experience.

I have decided to blog about my new gardening adventure. The goal is to update with new pictures every Saturday so that you can see my success or probable failure at simple gardening.

Now ... let me begin this post by explain that I have never gardened in my whole life. We never grew anything other than dandelions in the front yard when I was growing up. I wouldn't say I have a black thumb... I mean... my ivy hasn't died yet... but I wouldn't call it green either. Maybe its... Mustard yellow?
